LEONARD PARIS Maxi Skirt

Adorable floral print velvet maxi skirt by Leonard Paris, circa 1970s.

Description

Beautiful and rare Leonard Paris A-line flared maxi skirt probably from the 1970s. The high-waisted full length skirt is made from luxurious soft velvet and features an extremely vibrant pink Azalea print against a dark midnight blue background. It shows a decorative waistband and border at hem and is signed throughout the print “LEONARD“. The skirt is fully lined in black rayon and closes with a hidden side seam zipper and two hooks and bars at the waistband. The label is missing though there is no doubt it is a Leonard Paris design.

YVES SAINT LAURENT Skirt

Outstanding and rare colour block pleated tiered skirt with matching sash by Yves Saint Laurent from the 1980s.

Description

This rare and collectible Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche pleated tiered silk skirt comes with a long 8 cm - 3.1" wide matching sash. The three tiers consist of chocolate, maroon and a vibrant ultra violet pleated silk taffeta and are a perfect example for Yves Saint Laurent's talent of creating incredibly beautiful colour combinations. The fabric is crisp and truly stunning! This high-waisted midi skirt features a 3 cm - 1.1" wide elastic waistband and is partly lined (see penultimate picture). It can be worn in different ways as the sash is detachable. The skirt has the added provenance of coming directly from a lady that worked for the YSL shop in Munich so has not been on the market prior to this. The label reads "Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris, Made in France". It is tagged a French size 40.

YVES SAINT LAURENT Skirt

Bohemian full striped skirt by Yves Saint Laurent from the late 1970s.

Description

This peasant style Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche full skirt dates to the late 1970s and is very representative of the work Yves Saint Laurent was doing during this time period starting with his famous "Russian Collection“ of 1976/1977. The skirt is composed of a slightly coarse-fibred linen mix fabric in feel with a vertical stripe pattern with a colour story featuring malachite green, purple, cherry-red and crimson. It nips in at the waist and shows the typical fitted and tightly pleated upper hip that opens 11 cm – 4.3“ below the waist band to create the volume through the skirt that you see. The skirt is unlined and closes with a side zipper and flat hook and eye. It is tagged a vintage French 34.

PLEASE NOTE: The colour is more greenish in person (like on photo 5 & 6) and has photoed more of a blue tone.
