This exceptionally rare Fall 2003 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld runway and advertising campaign piece—a white jacket and trousers two-piece ski suit—is the ultimate expression of sporty winter Chanel elegance.

Titled “White Light”, the Fall 2003 Chanel collection featured a winter wardrobe primarily in black and white. Lagerfeld highlighted Chanel’s signature interplay of feminine and masculine elements through a small, dynamic series of winter looks, likely produced in very limited quantities.

Vogue Runway described the collection as follows:

“…Lagerfeld staged a ski moment for the house’s entire family, sending out Pat Cleveland with her children, Anna and Noel Van Ravenstein, in double-C padded jackets and boots. In other words, all the usual playfulness of Chanel ready-to-wear was there, executed with a light-handed touch that underscored Coco’s legacy of flexibility — and fun — in the reign of King Karl.”

The snow-white jacket features a hood and two functional pockets on each side, fastening with a front zipper. Complete the ensemble with the matching ski trousers.

• Full front zipper with silver hardware

• Grey fleece-lined inner neck and hood with double snap closure and cord

• CC zipper pull tabs

• Knitted grey wool cuffs

• Trousers with attached and adjustable branded suspenders

This treasure, like several others that are already available in the shop comes direct from a German socialite and fashion collector so has not been on the market prior to this.

Condition

Both jacket and trousers are in excellent vintage condition. Worn once only. A light yellowish spot on the inside of the hood where it closes at front. Few tiny spots near the trouser's hem. Please see the photos before the label shots.
