CHRISTIAN DIOR Lace Boots

Sensual and elegant Spring/Summer 1998 John Galliano for Christian Dior thigh-high lace stocking boots.

Description

These incredible S/S 1998 documented over-the-knee lace boots from Christian Dior offer a sophisticated play on transparency and speak unmistakably the design language of John Galliano who served as the fashion house's creative director from 1996 until 2011.

"In an age where fashion houses relied heavily on history and house codes, he took Dior’s concepts of femininity and opulence and pushed them to the very edge of an unexpected, artfully-clad cliff. The result was one of the most adrenaline-inducing brand revamps in fashion history." – Caroline Kloster for CR Fashion Book

Versions of the here offered hold-up stocking boots (shown with suspender belts and some with red heels) walked the runway for the A/W 1997 couture collection and the S/S 1998 ready-to-wear collection. Please see the reference photos and the below video of the S/S 1998 runway show.

The boots are made in Italy from a black stretchy semi-sheer floral lace fabric that clings for a second skin fit. They come with a silicon band on top for extra support.

Extending up to the thigh, the design features a pointed silhouette and sleek 100 mm – 3.94" stiletto heels that are covered in black croc-embossed leather. Leather sole and branded insole. Marked size: 38 (EU).
